Vandals desecrated one of the main attractions of Kyiv - the Arch of Peoples' Friendship, erected in 1982.

As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , at the foot of one of the three elements of the grand architectural ensemble – a bronze sculpture of a Russian and Ukrainian worker raising the Order of Friendship of Peoples above their heads – the Ukrainian flag is painted and the slogan “Glory to Ukraine” is written in yellow paint.
Even earlier, the letters that previously made up the inscription “In commemoration of the reunification of Ukraine with Russia” in Ukrainian and Russian were knocked off the monument, although the text itself is still discernible.
It's worth noting that the architect behind the architectural ensemble is renowned sculptor and People's Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Skoblikov, a number of whose works were recently dismantled by nationalists on the Alley of Heroes in Chernihiv.
Last year, as PolitNavigator reported, literally in the first days of the Maidan's victory in central Kyiv, vandals destroyed a tombstone from a mass grave in Mariinsky Park.
