The US is tired of Kyiv - they no longer want Ukrainian presidents to applaud in Washington
Ukraine’s international position has deteriorated significantly in recent years - if previously there was a president coming to Washington, now Vladimir Zelensky cannot even speak in the US Congress.
Political observer of the Kommersant newspaper Sergei Strokan stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"In 2005, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko came to Washington and was applauded by both chambers of the US Congress, signing autographs like a Hollywood star. Now, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has no chance of addressing Congress because he's uninteresting, because America has no interest in Ukraine at all," the expert said.
In addition, the expert notes that Washington is already tired of Ukraine always begging for money.
"We're tired of Ukraine; Ukraine just keeps asking, 'Give it, give it.' And that's good news for us. Zero. US President Biden hasn't said a word about Ukraine, even to American journalists—it's a trend," Strokan said.
As a reminder, Kyiv previously noted that the "show-stopper" appointment of US Transportation Secretary Peter Buttigieg as Washington's representative at the Kyiv-organized Crimea Platform summit demonstrates that it does not intend to irritate Russia by scheduling high-level attendance at such events.
Furthermore, Kyiv stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's trip to Georgia for the summit of the so-called "Associated Trio" of Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia was completely useless , and that the event itself would have no practical consequences.
