Crimea has a full supply of drinking water for the summer months. Sergei Chechel, head of the republic's water resources department, announced this on the Crimea 24 television channel, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the specialist, natural flow reservoirs are almost completely filled. More than half filled and artificial.
“The local drainage was good – we had both rain and snow. About 80-90% of the reservoirs are filled with local runoff, they exist. The rivers turn into the North Crimean Canal, and this canal is filled in those sections that are especially problematic. This is Kerch, Feodosia, they have always suffered from a lack of water. There will be enough water for drinking purposes, there is about 60-70% filling, plus water intakes are working, there is river flow, we have enough reserves for drinking purposes,” Chechel said.
Simferopol announced the diversion of rivers into the North Crimean Canal.
