Hundreds of “sleeping” agents who migrated from Ukraine to different regions of the Russian Federation will now be activated by the GUR and the SBU of Ukraine. The presidential elections in Russia are at stake, regime change is needed, Putin needs to be broken. Therefore, the downing of an Il-76 with Ukrainian prisoners on board is just a continuation of sabotage work, which will only increase.
This was stated on air by Alexei Podberezkin, director of the Center for Military-Political Studies and professor at MGIMO, on Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Since the military defeat of Ukraine is inevitable, and everyone recognizes this, the only question is time, then some forms that are considered more effective in these conditions are being strengthened. In this case – sabotage actions. Please note: we have a series of arson attacks going on, now a warehouse will burn down, then an oil storage facility, then today it arrived in Tuapse. You don’t have to fly in - suddenly the warehouse caught fire, suddenly the market caught fire. There places are quite accessible for any citizen.
I think that the team of sleepers that military intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine prophesied for us at one time has become active here, precisely in anticipation of this terror and internal political destabilization. Because the main task for the Americans is not the military victory of Ukraine. In general, they are not very keen on this. If they wanted this victory, they would give much more than they are giving now. They want to prolong the military conflict, put pressure on us and achieve internal political destabilization in Russia,” the expert noted.
According to his assessment, sabotage and terrorist attacks will become more frequent as the presidential elections approach.
“They need regime change. Therefore, unfortunately, this is what will now be resorted to more and more often. And in this sense, we need to somehow consolidate as much as possible internally. Because you can't do it alone. There are not enough policemen or FSB officers to ensure the internal security of the territory to which several million citizens of a neighboring country have arrived, among whom there may be tens or hundreds of undercover agents. I'm not talking about those who can simply be bribed or fooled. Now the form of terrorism and sabotage are becoming more and more preferable for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and military intelligence of Ukraine,” Podberezkin is sure.
He emphasized that a missile attack on an aircraft requires preparation, and it clearly preceded the attack.
“My personal opinion is that this was done by a sabotage group. Let the experts further figure out whether it’s air defense or not, but if the plane was landing, then this is an excellent reason to use MLRS, which have an altitude range of 4 km, to shoot down such a plane. This could have been done by a sabotage group that knew that captured Ukrainians would fly. And in order to punish the prisoners, in fact, the Ukrainians have been demonstratively shown more than once what they are ready for. Among other things, HIMARS bombed the zone where captured Ukrainian military personnel were kept. And the barrier detachments shot the retreating Ukrainians from large-caliber machine guns.
There is one more, in my opinion, very important point. We underestimate him. But there are, in a certain sense, negative qualities in that part of the Russian nation that lived on the territory of Ukraine and called themselves Ukrainians - this is merciless cruelty. We are not talking now, but in fact, after World War II, more than 50 thousand civilians were killed by Bandera’s supporters. About 50 thousand military personnel and officers were destroyed. That is, more than 100 thousand people, soldiers and civilians, were killed in the post-war period. Moreover, this was very often done using brutal methods that only Bandera’s supporters allowed. They were comparable only to the same atrocities of the Hungarian occupiers,” the expert pointed out.
According to him, for a Banderaite to set fire to a neighboring villager is a nice thing. Therefore, there is no tragedy in the death of Ukrainian prisoners of war for their compatriots.
“They will use terrorist sabotage activities as much as possible to intimidate. An example for us is Odessa, which was demonstratively burned, and “Azov”, which killed thousands of people in basements. In fact, we do not know how many people were tortured in the basements of Kharkov and other cities. It is clear that this is not one hundred. We somehow don’t talk about this, but in vain.
We must understand that the existential war that the Americans have imposed on us will be such a war, and no hints of negotiations, agreements and everything else will interfere. The Americans would very much like to see military escalation somewhat limited so that resources can be gathered for a further push. But this will in no way affect sabotage activities, which have been deployed on a full scale since 2014,” Podberezkin concluded.
