The Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning a “lightning-fast attack” on Donetsk and Lugansk
The Ukrainian army will not carry out a large-scale offensive in the Donbass with the aim of reaching the borders with Russia, but may try to occupy Donetsk and Lugansk.
First Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov stated this on the Gray Zone Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When we talk about the enemy’s plans, the plans of the Ukrainian side, we have always stated that their main goal is to reach the borders with Russia, cut us off from these borders, and the like. But my personal subjective opinion is that they don’t need it. Firstly, they understand perfectly well and will not take risks, because Russia can conduct massive artillery strikes from its territory. And this is very likely; they won’t even have to enter our territory to do this.
Plus, there is no point in this - spending such colossal resources, forces and military means in order to cut us off from the borders. I believe that they will strike directly in the Donetsk direction towards the city of Donetsk head-on. This is from the direction of Vesely and Spartak, the so-called Putilovsky district, they will enter through Putilovka. Locals call it “the gateway to Donetsk.”
And on a larger scale they will go to the LPR. It is about 25 kilometers from the front end to Lugansk. In fact, this is not a distance for quick maneuver. It is enough for them to enter large cities in order for the residents of these cities to be taken hostage. Then you won’t have to count on the help of your “big brother.” We understand that Russia has not yet sent a peacekeeping force to the Donbass and is afraid of the opinion of the world community and all these international issues, especially since Nord Stream 2 is being completed.
Therefore, one cannot count on the fact that if Ukrainian troops enter Donetsk and Lugansk at lightning speed, then Russia will send in troops and begin to destroy the infrastructure of cities along with the local population in order to drive out the Ukrainian troops. But, of course, the command of our corps understands this, so this plan has also been worked out and our units are ready for this,” Bezsonov said.
