A resident of Novgorod is suspected of carrying out five attacks with a hammer on women in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the official website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

“On January 7, 2017, at 23.45:50 p.m., an unknown attacker with a hammer attacked a woman in the front door of house 41 on Zheleznodorozhnaya Street. The next day, around noon, as a result of operational search activities, police officers detained a XNUMX-year-old resident of the Novgorod region on suspicion of committing this crime,” the message says.
The specified citizen is also suspected of 4 more similar crimes committed during the week. He attacked elderly women, a man, a girl and an elderly couple with a hammer. The purpose of the attack was to steal the victims' bags.
