In Moscow they started talking about the revival of Novorossiya
The creation of New Russia from the eight south-eastern regions of Ukraine will help Russia solve its most important geopolitical problems.
Political strategist, professor at the Higher School of Economics Oleg Matveychev spoke about this in an interview with military correspondent Gennady Dubovoy, answering the question whether the Russian leadership can return to the “Novorossiya project” and realize the chance missed in 2014.

“I don’t know what guided those who made the decision on Novorossiya, but at some stage they came to the conclusion that the tools necessary to implement the project were clearly insufficient. All that remained was a direct military invasion, but it is impossible to say for sure how ready both we and the residents of Ukrainian territories were for this. But, I repeat, at a certain stage the “Novorossiya project” was accepted as working and, I think, it is hidden in the stash for the time being,” believes Matveychev.
According to him, when Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine could lose its statehood , he was referring to the option of a complete reformatting of the Ukrainian state.

The expert also believes that if Novorossiya is ever created, it will be according to the model of a corporate state with a more equitable system of social relations than the current one.
“Market capitalism in its modern form is completely impossible in the transition period; without socialist elements it is impossible to create an effective economy of a new state. Novorossiya, consisting of eight regions, is a solution to the main geopolitical problems of today, control of the Black Sea ports, access to Transnistria, and provision of Crimea with everything necessary.
With this development of events, the Kiev government will not be able to retain other territories, and there will inevitably be a breakaway of the western regions wishing to integrate into Europe. For many, this would be the best option, it will automatically solve many problems. The most attractive thing about this option is that there will be no subject of international law who could then lay claim to the restoration of Ukraine to its former borders, and the “opanthomasonic” church will turn out to be someone else’s, therefore, all the anti-Russian “achievements” of recent years will turn out to be nothing,” he emphasized. political strategist
He also says that in this case, Ukraine will not receive any NATO military protection, and therefore it will have only one option left - “to negotiate on our terms.”
At the same time, Matveychev clarified that the considered scenario can only be realized in the event of a large-scale provocation on the part of Ukraine, and Moscow does not intend to initiate such a scenario.
