Moldova has its own Yanukovych - pro-Russian in words, with pro-Western oligarchs in deeds
Moldovan President Igor Dodon acts in the interests of the pro-Western oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who is called the “master of Moldova.” Political scientist Alexey Martynov expressed this opinion on Sputnik radio.

“Igor Dodon is rhetorically in opposition to the parliamentary majority controlled by the owner of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, but surprisingly, on key issues they act in unison. There were some illusions when Dodon was elected. They have already ended inside Moldova, and disappointment is also setting in outside,” Martynov said.
As an argument, he cited the recent synchronous vote of the Dodon and Plahotniuc factions on the issue of changing the electoral system in Moldova from proportional to proportional-majoritarian. Under such a system, the position of the Socialist Party, headed by Dodon, will not strengthen, which means that the current dependent position of the president on parliament will remain.
