The LPR opened a criminal case against Saakashvili for the Maidan massacre
The LPR Prosecutor General's Office has opened a criminal case against former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who has recently been imprisoned in Tbilisi.

It is reported that the department has opened a criminal case against Saakavshvili for an attack on the life of law enforcement officers, as well as the murder of two or more persons, “by prior conspiracy by a group of persons motivated by political and ideological hostility, on the grounds of a crime under Art. 389 and clauses “a”, “f”, “g”, “h”, “l”, part 2, art. 113 of the Criminal Code of the LPR.”
“It was established that at the end of 2013, at the invitation of Saakashvili, a group of snipers arrived from Georgia to Kyiv. At the end of February 2014, this group of snipers fired at protesters, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies, on Independence Square in Kiev.
It is known that as a result of the shooting on Independence Square in Kiev, which took place on February 20.02.2014, 78, 13 civilians and XNUMX law enforcement officers were killed,” the press service said in a statement.
Deputy of the People's Council of the DPR Vladislav Berdichevsky explained the situation in a commentary to PolitNavigator. According to him, here we can observe part of a large work that goes far beyond the scope of specific individuals and criminal proceedings.
“I think that in this case this is an attempt to become more legitimized. Because the more international requests there are, the more international documents, the more attention there will be to this structure, in this case it is the Prosecutor General’s Office of the LPR. I think, of course, that there will be no move or answer, but, in principle, it’s a good attempt,” Berdichevsky said.
“I think that we need to do this, draw up an appropriate request, time is running out, next year the republic will be eight years old, this is quite a long period.
Let’s hope that more information about the DPR and LPR will still encourage the world community to pay attention to the fact that our republics exist, that our government structures operate and are quite actively engaged in their responsibilities within the framework of international law,” the deputy added.
