Simferopol, December 25 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – Crimean authorities warn of upcoming daily planned rolling blackouts from power supplies.

The Minister of Fuel and Energy of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Egorov, told Interfax on Thursday .
“The Ukrainian side provided us with a supply schedule; during the morning and evening peak consumption, the volume of electricity supplied will not exceed 400 megawatts. We will have to introduce rolling blackouts, limiting consumption by 200 megawatts,” the minister noted.
He also said that unexpected power outages coming to Crimea from Ukraine are not yet expected.
“The Ukrainian side did not officially inform us about such plans,” the minister said.
According to him, the unexpected complete blackout of Crimea on December 24, by decision of Kyiv, caused breakdowns at thermal power plants in Simferopol and the city of Saki.
“These are not systemic accidents, but because of these breakdowns, the power plants operated intermittently. Now they are stopped for repairs,” the minister said.
According to him, the repair of the thermal power plant is planned to be completed by the end of the day.
“Today the weather is sunny, and we hope that solar power plants will help us out during this time,” the minister said.
