In Kyiv, the controversial Klitschko glass bridge was closed for repairs
In Kyiv, the new glass pedestrian and bicycle bridge between Khreshchaty Park and Vladimir Hill, which was previously pompously opened by the Klitschko brothers, has been closed, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced this on his Facebook page.

The reason for the closure is repair work planned for the near future. On Friday, June 14, traffic on the bridge will resume.
“Until tomorrow, we have temporarily limited access to the pedestrian bridge to carry out technological work there. This is necessary because the asphalt – the covering of the bridge – has “settled down”, excess crumbs have come off, which needs to be removed and washed and cleaned, the bridge must be applied with plastic markings,” wrote Vitali Klitschko.

The mayor of Kyiv also added that the glass elements, which suffer so much from vandals, will remain, but will be strengthened.
“As for the protective film on the glass elements of the bridge that was damaged by vandals, it will soon be replaced with a layer of protective super-armored glass. The glass elements on the bridge will remain. They are absolutely safe,” Klitschko wrote.
As PolitNavigator reported, on May 6, the day after the grand opening of the pedestrian and bicycle bridge that connects Vladimir Hill and the People's Friendship Arch, the panoramic glass on the observation platforms was cracked. Then the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, called the incident sabotage and promised to solve the problem within 1 hours. Then the bridge was blocked and the glass was restored. However, already on June XNUMX in Kyiv, another glass cracked on the new pedestrian bridge.
