Kyiv is alarmed by the return of neo-Nazis to Donbass
The Azov National Guard Regiment of Ukraine, which announced its return to the front lines in Donbass, poses a threat to stabilizing the situation in the region.
Sergei Shabovta, President of the All-Ukrainian Association of Security Market Operators, told PolitNavigator about this.
He recalled that “Azov” has long been not just a volunteer battalion, but has become one of the units that were included in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, but at the same time, in their activities, the “Azovites” are guided by an absolutely radical ideology.
“This was repeatedly stated by its creator and ideological inspirer, People’s Deputy Andrei Biletsky. He even almost threatened from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada that if, in his opinion, something wrong happens in the country, then he considers himself entitled to dispose of his battalion as he sees fit. Therefore, it is clear that the situation with Azov can be formally covered up by some official decisions, but, on the other hand, it poses a threat to the stability of the situation in Donbass,” the expert fears.
Let us recall that “Azov” was formed in 2014 as a volunteer battalion, which included racists and neo-Nazis.
