After visiting the Russian logistics point in Tartus, a detachment of six large landing ships from the Northern and Baltic fleets can enter the Black Sea.

According to a member of the “Officers of Russia” organization, captain XNUMXst rank Vasily Dandykin, these ships can, if necessary, significantly enhance the combat capability of the Black Sea Fleet, given the turbulent situation in the region.
“This campaign is taking place as part of the exercises of our Navy under the flag of the Commander-in-Chief of the Fleet, Admiral Evmenov, in many seas and two oceans, including the Mediterranean Sea. Not only six large landing ships of the Northern and Baltic fleets arrived there, but also ships of the Pacific Fleet - the guards missile cruiser "Varyag", a large anti-submarine ship with a tanker. The group was supplemented by ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
This suggests that, as part of interaction at the right time, as part of assistance to the Black Sea Fleet, of course, they can support it. Further plans are unknown to me, but if such exercises take place in the Black Sea, then it is quite likely that these ships may end up there too.

Our fleet is proving that it is ready for any changes and has every opportunity to neutralize threats. Including strengthening the Black Sea Fleet,” Dandykin said.
An expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, Captain XNUMXst Rank Sergei Gorbachev also does not exclude the possibility of ships from other Russian fleets visiting the Black Sea.
“The practice of ships from other fleets coming here has been established. There was the missile cruiser “Varyag”, and large anti-submarine ships of the Northern Fleet of the “Admiral Kulakov” type, and there were landing ships here. I think that in this case, the arrival of so many amphibious forces in the region fits into the context of large-scale exercises in all theaters - in the Baltic, the Pacific, and the Black Sea.
Plus, I would consider their activity from the point of view of supporting the forces of the so-called Syrian Express. If we talk about some active actions from the point of view of the amphibious component, that is, landing somewhere, I think that the Black Sea already has enough of its own forces to solve problems. The Black Sea Fleet includes the 197th brigade of landing ships, which regularly carries out combat training tasks.
But I would not dramatize the situation, stir up fears - if the ships come here, then in this case they will solve the issues of the Syrian Express, support the forces operating in Syria, and take part in the exercises on Opuka. Plus, the ships have come quite a long way, and this practice exists during the period when ships perform combat service tasks and inter-cruise repairs,” says Gorbachev.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine they are happy that Russian ships are being monitored by “partners” from the United States and NATO and announce the entry of six Russian BODs into the Black Sea on February 8th and 9th.
