If law enforcement in Crimea attempts to evict the unregistered "Crimean diocese" of the so-called "Orthodox Church of Ukraine" from its occupied premises, Ukrainian nationalists will attack the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and other churches of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Former Crimean Maidan activist and member of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" Eduard Leonov stated this on the "Pryamiy" TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, he was informed about the threat of eviction by the head of the “Crimean diocese” of schismatics, “Archbishop” Clement.
“Today, the Crimean Bishop of the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” Clement told me that he received a notice of eviction from the Crimean diocese in Simferopol. Because they forgot to draw up ownership documents for these premises at one time, and now the Russian authorities are trying to do this.
So, I want to say that I am a Crimean and thousands of Crimeans like me who are not temporarily displaced persons, as they are trying to make us. It’s just that now the front line runs along the administrative demarcation line with Crimea, and we are on the Ukrainian side.
So, if the Russian occupation authorities in Simferopol evict the Crimean “Ukrainian Church” from the diocese, then we will come in full force to the Lavra and to other objects that are still illegally maintained by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine,” he said Leonov.
Earlier, the head of the schismatic "Kiev Patriarchate" in Crimea, "Archbishop" Kliment Kushch, stated that he received tacit intercession from Metropolitan Lazar of the Crimean UOC-Moscow Patriarchate , since he wanted to preserve the possibility of traveling to Kiev.
