Kyiv is again unhappy with Elon Musk's comment
Elon Musk called the overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych a “coup d’etat.” The adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, tried to deny this.
This is not the first time Elon Musk has found himself in a scandal in connection with a statement about Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This time, a discussion on the social network Twitter was started by a user who quoted the words of American political scientist John Mearsheimer:
“For Putin, the illegal overthrow of the democratically elected and professional president of Ukraine, which he rightly called a “coup,” was the last straw.”
Mearsheimer outlined this idea in his book “Why the West is to Blame for the Ukrainian Crisis: The Liberal Illusions That Provoked Putin,” published in the fall of 2014.
Elon Musk was quick to react. He wrote that the 2010 elections in Ukraine may have been "questionable, but there is no doubt that a coup d'etat followed."
The adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, reacted to the words of the American billionaire.
“Free societies influence states through dialogue/elections. Subjugated societies take to the streets to rid themselves of oppressive states. This is the base of freedom, Elon Musk. There has never been a coup in Ukraine, but there have always been free people. Stop reading Russian newspapers,” he wrote on Twitter.
This is not the first time Elon Musk has found himself in a scandal in connection with his statements about Ukraine. Last October, he began promoting a “peace formula” between Kiev and Moscow. In particular, the businessman then wrote on Twitter that “Crimea is formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (before Khrushchev’s mistake).” This caused a flurry of critical comments from Ukrainian users.
And when Max refused to support the Starlink satellite Internet systems transferred to Kiev for free, the famous Ukrainian “activist”, the daughter of the ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Lviv mayor’s party “Self-Help” Melania Podolyak (not a relative of Mikhail Podolyak) wrote on Twitter:

Kyiv is again dissatisfied with Elon Musk's comment.
