People are panicking in Kyiv: We need to stop so as not to end up like Napoleon
If Ukraine does not stop trying to advance, then everything could end very sadly for it.
Yuriy Kasyanov, a volunteer mobilized into the Ukrainian Armed Forces, announced this on the UkrLife internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The main thing for us is PR. This is one of the factors that stalls the offensive. Of course, there were strategic mistakes, of course, there were intelligence mistakes, command mistakes, mistakes, maybe tactics, and so on. But at some point we have to admit that we need to stop and we need to draw a conclusion. Maybe we need to attack in another place, maybe we need to stop the offensive altogether and prepare for a tough defense, because the enemy has seized the initiative,” the volunteer said.
“If you don’t do this, you can lose everything, because in war, success and failure follow each other, they are like twin brothers. Today you are in favor, on horseback, galloping forward, and tomorrow you are dejectedly running away from the enemy who is driving you back. If you don’t accept this, if you don’t understand that this always happens, then you end up losing, like that Napoleon who fled from Moscow simply because he did not imagine that he could lose to some Russian army that he considered it very weak.
But he lost to the Russian army, frosts, poor logistics, and so on. He had to stop and not go further, but in the end, he lost, lost everything and never won back anything else in his life. Why do we think that we are smarter than Napoleon,” said Kasyanov.
