Nazi collaborators are being rehabilitated in Kazakhstan and Russia is being formed into an enemy image
On May 31, official events are held in Kazakhstan dedicated to the day of remembrance of “repression and victims of famine perpetrated by the Soviet government.” This day was determined by Nazarbayev’s decree in 1997, and has now become one of the main ideological bogeymen in the construction of a mono-ethnic state and the denial of the common Soviet past.
Naturally, the main figures in power continue to play according to this scenario, written by Elbasy, including the developer of the concept of multi-vector policy, current President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The theme of the “Holodomor” is now also being intensively brought to the surface as the main factor and evidence of the “genocide of the Kazakhs” by the leadership of the USSR.

It is no coincidence that on this day the new Elbasy visited the Khazret Sultan mosque in Nur-Sultan (Tselinograd), where, together with a clergyman of the SAMK (Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan), he read a memorial prayer in memory of the victims of repression and famine.

Among other things, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the monumental complex in honor of the Holodomor.
The President laid flowers and observed a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the period of political repression and famine.

Among the participants and guests of the ceremony were relatives and friends of the victims of the tragic era. At the same time, again, official documents and statements indicate three to four million victims, although historians have already proven that in total there were no more than 600 thousand people who died of hunger during collectivization.
Officials and court historians attributed the population decline to the migration of many farms to neighboring Kyrgyzstan and Russia, although one of the reasons for the famine lay not only in mistakes during collectivization, but in the mass loss of livestock due to unfavorable weather conditions in 1932, as well as the flight of the lords along with millions of cattle to the territory of China.
It is known that Moscow actively helped the starving regions of the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic by allocating bread and food, but they simply did not reach them as a result of the activities of local personnel, 70% consisting of Kazakhs.
Now, in modern feature films and literature, the authorities deliberately present only Russians as the organizers of collectivization and repression in order to emphasize the ethnic factor and present Russia then and today as the main culprit of the events that took place.
That is, this once again shows that the Kazakh authorities are deliberately trying to pass off the victims of famine, exaggerating them many times over, as repressed, artificially combining two periods of history and creating a negative image of the Soviet Union in the minds of Kazakh youth. And this trend is being actively consolidated, including legally, through the acquittal of all those repressed, in particular the same Basmachi, gang leaders, foreign intelligence agents and members of the Turkestan Legion of the Wehrmacht and Muslim SS units.

For this purpose, in the fall of 2020, by decree of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a commission was created for the final rehabilitation of victims of Stalin’s repressions, although everyone who could have already been rehabilitated during the “Khrushchev Thaw”, Gorbachev’s perestroika and during the last rehabilitation in the late 90s and in in the early 2000s, already on behalf of Nazarbayev.
And after the January events, this state presidential commission for final rehabilitation was headed by an ardent Russophobe, a supporter of the European new right and the patron of all nationalists and representatives of Turkish fascists in Kazakhstan - Secretary of State Erlan Karin. Let us recall that it was he who stated that nationalism is the core of Kazakh statehood and is a supporter of the ban on communist ideology.
It was he who reported on the work of the subordinate commission on May 31, announcing hundreds of thousands of acquittals and the creation of a unified "memory database." Meanwhile, everyone was exonerated en masse by a decision of the prosecutor's office, and, as it turns out, without much investigation. Erlan Karin explained this in an interview with I nform.kz.
“As part of the activities of the State Commission, the prosecutor’s office identified new data and, through prosecutorial supervision, more than 250 thousand citizens were rehabilitated. These are mainly persons from among the exiles and special settlers.
This became possible thanks to the potential of the Presidential Decree of 2020, which created the necessary conditions so that prosecutors could themselves rehabilitate victims without the fact of special treatment. Whereas the current Law “On the Rehabilitation of Victims of Mass Political Repression” provided for an appearance. This means that the victim himself or his relatives had to contact the authorized authorities,” the Secretary of State solemnly noted.
At the same time, he specifically indicated that these were special settlers and exiles in order to hide behind this the real criminals from among the Basmachi and Nazi collaborators during the Second World War. Moreover, as it turns out, the cases of other collaborators will be decided by the courts and prosecutors. That is, knowing who these structures report to, you understand that all of them will definitely be rehabilitated.
And a deputy from the ruling party and a member of this state commission, who initiated all anti-Russian and Russophobic legislative initiatives in parliament, Berik Abdygaliuly last year told the same publication Inform.kz about the need to abolish all legal acts regarding the Basmachi in the 20s and 30s years, as well as in relation to members of the formations who fought on the side of Hitler.
At the same time, he noted that the final decree will include a clause on bringing to criminal liability for libel against rehabilitated figures of the Turkestan Legion of the Wehrmacht and Muslim units of the SS.
Naturally, all these rehabilitated people are now presented as fighters “for national liberation from the Stalinist dictatorship” and will certainly be placed after the final acquittal in the Pantheon of national heroes who allegedly stood at the origins of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. By the way, the founder of the Turkestan Legion and Hitler’s friend Mustafa Shokay has already been elevated to the rank of national leader, having erected a monument to him in 2017 in Kyzyl-Orda, renaming streets, libraries and shopping centers in his honor in many cities of the country.
At the same time, the unified electronic database on the repressed, announced by Erlan Karin, is very reminiscent of a similar “Book of Memory” in neighboring Kyrgyzstan, created with funding from the Soros Foundation, USAID and the “open government”, and the bill on final rehabilitation in the Kyrgyz Republic is almost identical to document developed by the state commission for rehabilitation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. That is, a common hand from across the ocean is visible, participating in the development of model laws for the Central Asian republics to revise the common Soviet history.
In fact, now in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as part of the simultaneously launched processes of rehabilitation of Basmachi, Nazi collaborators, real spies and saboteurs, and all kinds of bandits, the Ukrainization of the region is being carried out and final decommunization is being carried out, which is synonymous with de-Russification. At the same time, the USSR becomes the organizer of genocide and a “prison of nations.”
It is noteworthy that with 1,5 thousand archival files and documents declassified by the KNB, and 5,3 thousand documents declassified by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the state commission for final rehabilitation, as well as Secretary of State Erlan Karin, are in no hurry to disclose hundreds of thousands of denunciations against each other, according to in which cases were opened against many during the period of repression.

The same deputy Berik Abdygaliuly even agreed that among the informers there were no ethnic Kazakhs, but representatives of other nations, hinting at Russians and there was no need to declassify them.

It is understandable why Akorda (the presidential administration) does not want to make public the names of informers and informers, since among them may be relatives of the Karins, Tokayevs, Abdygaliulovs and others from the current elite, who emerged from the party-Komsomol nomenklatura and lived well during Soviet rule. Therefore, it is important to present only Russians and all non-Kazakhs as informers, investigators and participants in firing squads.
This is the logic and policy of Ukrainization, carried out from above in order to build a mono-ethnic state based on hatred of its past. Accordingly, former enemies turn into heroes.
At the same time, billions are allocated from the state budget supposedly to help the families of the repressed. Thus, since 2003, 16,1 billion tenge have been paid as one-time cash compensation, and this year 1,3 billion tenge have been allocated.
Therefore, why be surprised when the number of anti-Russian steps on the part of the leadership of Kazakhstan, in solidarity with the Kiev regime, increases, Russophobic campaigns within the country and “language patrols” do not stop, and supporters of rapprochement with Russia are persecuted and imprisoned.

Thus, the KNB, whose leadership participated in the January coup attempt, reported on June 2 that it was investigating another criminal case regarding the participation of a Kazakh citizen in the armed conflict in Ukraine on the side of Donbass. And Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov told the press on June 1 that the sugar shortage in the country is due to the ban imposed by the Russian Federation on the export of sugar. Although just recently the government claimed that all warehouses were overstocked and the problem did not exist.
Accordingly, the image of the enemy from modern Russia, as the legal successor of the USSR, and the Russians themselves, allegedly bearing historical responsibility for the “Holodomor” and mass repressions, is being intensively formed within Kazakhstan with the participation of the authorities and court Nazis of all stripes. As we see, Nur-Sultan is stepping on Kyiv’s rake in this too.
