In Ivano-Frankivsk, a man was sentenced to five months in prison for desertion: he took a walk in the park
Kyiv, July 29 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Ivano-Frankivsk City Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against a 27-year-old city resident who arbitrarily evaded mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the press service of the court, during the first stage of mobilization, in April 2014, the defendant was given a mobilization order, according to which he had to leave for military service in one of the military units.
Subsequently, the defendant, the press service notes, “acting intentionally, realizing the illegal nature of his socially dangerous actions, knowing about the time and place of his sending to the troops for military service, arbitrarily left the territory of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional assembly point and spent some time in the city park of recreation and culture."
“In court, the defendant fully admitted his guilt, confirmed the above facts, repented of what he had done and asked not to be severely punished,” the court’s press service reported.
The Ivano-Frankivsk City Court sentenced the accused under Part 2 of Article 409 (refusal to perform military service) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to five months of arrest.
As Navigator reported, 41 Ukrainian servicemen who had previously crossed over to Russian territory arrived in Zaporozhye from Russia. According to official information, investigative actions are being carried out: they are not accused of desertion.
