“The civilians are constantly under the pressure of cannonades. All that's left is to f... Stirol and that's it. “For people living in the area of one of the checkpoints, it is much worse: constant cannonade, houses cut by shrapnel, shell fragments lying right in the yards, bullets, bullet marks from the night operation of machine guns in the facades of houses, fallen power line poles - these are their realities today,” says He.
According to him, on Saturday many areas remained without electricity, water, gas, heat and communications. In addition, due to constant fighting, local residents ask each other to turn off intercoms.
“It’s very unpleasant to find yourself on the street during shelling and try in vain to take cover, even in a closed entrance. Moreover, in many houses the descent to the basements is located in the entrances,” Segodnya quotes local resident Alexei.
In turn, the militias report that Ukrainian troops are trying to break through the defense line.
“The situation in the Debaltseve direction remains the most difficult. During the day, the enemy made attempts with artillery fire and attacks from armored groups to break through our line of defense and oust the militia forces from the settlements of Gorlovka and Novoorlovka,” they write in groups on social networks.
