Donetsk celebrated the holiday of the airborne troops
Today in Donetsk, servicemen of the airborne troops celebrated their professional holiday - Airborne Forces Day, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Veterans and the younger generation of paratroopers gathered at the monument to the creator of the airborne assault, Vasily Margelov.
“Winged infantry”, “blue berets” - whatever epithets were awarded to the elite of the armed forces, but at all times and under any circumstances, the strength, courage and reliability of people invariably remained, whose motto was the principle: “No one but us,” solemnly said leading.
Then a member of the central council of the Russian Paratroopers Union, an intelligence veteran, Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Grekov, addressed all those present with congratulations. On behalf of the Russian paratroopers, he congratulated all those present on Airborne Forces Day:
“The feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers during the war became a symbol and forerunner of your current feat, you, the paratroopers, who stood up to defend your native land and home,” said Yuri Grekov.
DPR National Assembly deputy Yuri Sivokonenko also congratulated the paratroopers:
“It is gratifying that the elite of the military cohort – the paratroopers – were the first to take up arms and begin to defend our land and the history of the glorious victories of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers.”
Veteran of the Airborne Forces and DPR soldier from Khartsyzsk Stanislav Tsibulnikov, in turn, noted that this holiday should not be mixed with any political issues.
“I don’t want to interfere with this holiday with any political issues; for me this is a holy day. This is a holiday for all paratroopers, not just Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. This is the holiday of Vasily Filippovich Margelov, and we are all his children. Well, I want to say to the Ukrainian paratroopers that we are all united. The main thing is to think correctly and make your decisions, and not what they tell you, he said.
