In Donetsk they explained why the Ukrainians began massive shelling
Today's massive mortar shelling of the DPR territory was carried out on orders from Kiev – with the aim of provoking return fire and, thus, obtaining a pretext for re-imposing martial law in Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed to the PolitNavigator correspondent by the commander of the special detachment of the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations “Legion”, Colonel Sergei Zavdoveev.
“This is all connected with the upcoming elections in Ukraine, since Petro Poroshenko will need to extend martial law in order to cancel the elections, because he has no chance of winning honestly. Therefore, the aggravation begins.
They are waiting for an answer from us, and if we give an answer, then martial law may be declared in Ukraine again, and the elections will be moved. This is just a provocation, because there are no radical reconnaissance or offensive actions, they just fire and wait for a response from us,” the officer concluded.
Donetsk explained why Ukrainians launched a massive shelling.
