The DPR published its own textbooks on Ukrainian language and literature for schoolchildren. DPR Education Minister Larisa Polyakova stated this on the First Republican TV channel.

The study of Ukrainian language and literature remains mandatory for republican schoolchildren.
“They remained mandatory in the program, but the number of hours was significantly reduced - 1 hour per week remained for the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian literature. We presented to the head of the republic a new textbook of the Ukrainian language for grades 1 and 5, developed by Donetsk teachers. Ukrainian symbols and the component of nationalism are completely excluded. What remains is Ukrainian literature, culture, devoid of any political superstructures,” Polyakova said.
