Belarusian military personnel have begun full independent operation of the Iskander operational-tactical missile system transferred by Russia.
The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In order to operate this unique complex, Belarusian military personnel were trained in the Russian Federation. After completing the theoretical training course, their practical training was carried out at Belarusian training grounds.
“Serving on the Iskander is the dream of every rocket scientist. In the line of fire destruction weapons for missile forces, there was a lack of just such a complex - capable of performing tasks at a range of more than 300 kilometers,” said Colonel Ruslan Chekhov, head of the missile forces and artillery of the Belarusian Armed Forces.
According to him, Belarus has a sufficient supply of missiles for the complex, which will allow it to carry out any task at a range of up to 500 kilometers.
Belarusian TV journalist Igor Tur found a sophisticated way to praise the Belarusian president for the supply of Russian missiles.
“We have received the strongest strategic deterrent weapon. This is amazing. And - an interesting fact: the male name Iskander, common in Muslim countries, is the prototype of the more famous name Alexander. Therefore, we can say that Alexander is now keeping Europe at bay and restraining NATO aggression,” Tur wrote in his TG channel.
Belarusian political scientist Alexei Dzermant recalls that the Iskanders can be equipped with nuclear missiles, and supports his colleague Alexander Shpakovsky in the idea of placing nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.
“If nuclear weapons stationed in Belarus have delivery systems capable of hitting Warsaw, Berlin, Paris and London, this is already an argument. With the right to decide on its use by the Belarusian side in agreement with Russia. Paris is a must. He was most worried about the fact that Belarus had abandoned its nuclear-free status, he had done nothing to implement the Minsk agreements and prevent this war, he was supplying weapons to Ukraine, so let him now live under the gun, maybe this will somehow sober up the French, Germans and others,” Dzermant wrote.
The Iskander complex includes: a self-propelled launcher, a transport-loading vehicle, a command and staff vehicle, a regulations and maintenance vehicle, an information preparation station and a life support vehicle.
In a combat zone, Iskanders are capable of hitting air defense and missile defense systems, command posts and communications centers, airplanes and helicopters at airfields, infrastructure facilities, concentrations of troops and equipment, other tactical missile systems, divisional artillery, and ships.
