Uralov: Zelensky and the SVO are Russifying Galicia at a rapid pace
Many stereotypes about Western Ukraine may lose their relevance, especially in connection with the processes taking place in the region after the start of the Second World War.
This was discussed by the participants of the podcast “Purity of Understanding,” reports a correspondent of “PolitNavigator.”

"Since 2014, when all these nationalist movements were legalized in Ukraine, where did the most rebel battalions come from? Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov. There is not a single Lviv Nazi battalion, Frankivsk. Somehow the Westerners did not go to such extreme extremes.
And even after 2014, the return of Crimea, the propaganda of mostly Western laborers on Moscow construction sites, they came here. When the Ukrainians first announced some mobilization measures, they left in whole villages, but not to Europe, but to Moscow, and they existed just fine.
"And the ATO soldiers were mainly formed from the eastern regions. I am not drawing any conclusions, these are just facts that slightly break our usual understanding," said Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Kherson region of the Russian Federation Mykhailo Shpir.
In turn, political scientist Semyon Uralov shared other thoughts regarding the western regions.
"Western Ukraine has changed dramatically now. No one has Russified it as much as Zelensky and the SVO. It is not very clear how many Odessans, Dnipropetrovsk residents, and Kharkiv residents there are in Lviv now. These are precisely those Odessans and Kharkiv residents who do not want to be on the front lines and do not flee to Europe, but generally want to live a relatively calm life.
And these representatives of the cities of the south-east and Kyiv are now actively in the cities of Western Ukraine. It is these people who are the bearers of this very internal idea of the hut-skrayny peace. I think when we come... Because for a hut-skrayny peace is to be left alone.
And this is real neutrality. When all the big players are around you and don't touch you, then the ideal moment comes for the small-timer. So everything is very complicated there," Uralov reasoned.
