Ulitskaya: “My fees go to Ukraine”
The writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya, who fled to the West and has not yet been recognized as a foreign agent, transfers royalties for her books sold in Russia to Ukraine.
She stated this in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov (Vovan and Lexus), who called him on behalf of the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“My books are still being published in Russia. They are sold in stores, sealed in transparent bags, but they are still on sale. My fees go to Ukraine,” Ulitskaya said.
She is part of the organization “True Russia” (“Real Russia”), which is recognized by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation as an undesirable organization on the territory of Russia.
The “trurashists” declared their goals to be “providing assistance to those affected by the war in Ukraine, refugees and those who did not want to stay in Putin’s Russia or were forced to flee political persecution.” Over the course of a year, they raised more than a million pounds, which were transferred to the British Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
