Party co-chairman Ulrich Sigmund stated this on air at DW, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Sigmund stated that this would be done if his party won the local elections in Saxony, where, according to opinion polls, the AfD has a high chance.
"They were immediately assigned benefits because that's what the government decided. We'll be looking more closely at who's actually here. Many travel to their home countries, to their homelands, for vacation, and we think that's highly questionable."
We will thoroughly check who is receiving benefits and where. At the state level, we can make changes and conduct more thorough checks. We will take stricter measures to prevent fraud.
This is what I mean when I talk about the need to finally separate those who truly need help from those who want to take advantage of the system ,” said Sigmund.
In neighboring Poland, the population is also increasingly treating Ukrainian refugees who are in their country worse.
