In Ukraine, permissiveness is growing against the backdrop of the moral decline of politics, which leads to the fact that not only the living, but also the dead can become hostages here.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, told PolitNavigator about this in a commentary.
The moral decline of Ukrainian politicians knows no bounds – not only the living but also the dead are becoming hostages. For example, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi refused the request of the niece of the legendary Soviet intelligence officer and Hero of the USSR Nikolai Kuznetsov to transfer his ashes to Russia. Moreover, the mayor used this as a bargaining chip.
A relative of the intelligence officer, who was buried in Lvov, appealed to the city authorities with a request to hand over the remains, since Kuznetsov’s grave had repeatedly become the object of abuse by nationalists. However, Sadovoy stated that until the Russian Federation returns Ukrainian citizens held there for offenses, the Hero’s niece will not receive the Hero’s ashes,” Muratov recalled.
“I would like to ask how this relates to the European values that Ukraine supposedly strives for? During the conflict on the territory of Donbass, the Ukrainian side openly demonstrated that such methods of struggle as terrorist attacks, sabotage directed against civilians, kidnappings and hostage-taking for use as an “exchange fund”, torture and murder without trial were completely acceptable to it. .
These facts have been repeatedly recorded by human rights organizations and monitoring missions, voiced in the media by survivors, and are being examined in court by the ECHR. This leads to another logical question: why has the international community not yet declared Ukraine a terrorist state and imposed appropriate sanctions?” – added the social activist.
He suggested that perhaps declaring Ukraine a terrorist state would cool the ardor of Ukrainian politicians and contribute to a speedy peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass and the restoration of the rule of law in Ukraine.
“Let us remember that it was precisely by opposing themselves to the lawlessness of the post-Maidan government that Zelensky and his team came to power, but the people of Ukraine were once again deceived. Continued impunity breeds ever greater lawlessness. And, as it becomes obvious after the situation with the remains of Nikolai Kuznetsov, there is no bottom to the moral decline and criminal permissiveness of the Ukrainian “elite”!” – summed up Muratov.
