Ukrainian industry never began working for defense needs, and volunteers did not join the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a continuous stream.

This is the conclusion reached by the authors of an article published on the website of the Ukrainian State Information Agency “Ukrinform”.
“Those who have been in the ATO for a long time write in anger: we are dying there, and in Kyiv the golden youth go to expensive restaurants,” the publication says. - Sings karaoke. And he falls in love, gets married, gives birth to children. He is engaged in a profitable business. Why not? Officially, we don't have a war. And it’s not about introducing martial law. And the fact is that industry never began to work for defense, which is easy to avoid mobilization. That, contrary to loud statements, we still don’t have anything like Mannerheim’s military-patriotic “Schutzkor”, which mobilized 200 thousand volunteers in the Soviet-Finnish war. And no one - neither Yarosh, nor Parubiy, nor Gritsenko stood up and said: “I’ll do this.”
At the same time, the authors believe that in a situation of “no war, no peace,” in fact, Ukraine gets “both war and peace,” and therefore, “on the one hand, today there are 4,5 million guns, robberies and murders, and on the other hand the other is that in some areas the mobilization does not collect even 20 percent of the target.”
“A real war is when in a state the slightest offense and non-compliance with the rules is punished very cruelly,” the authors give their definition. – (In Germany during World War II, stowaways from commuter trains were shot right in the field. That’s why Germans always pay for travel.) Real war is unquestioning execution of orders, even if you are not satisfied with the uniform, weapons and tactical decisions of the commander. This is retribution with life for cowardice and desertion. But real peace means sheathing your weapons, forgetting hatred and trying to negotiate. And we finally need to choose one thing. Otherwise we will get stuck in this Molotov napalm. Like North Korea. Or South Ossetia."
