Ukrainian colonel: We have a growing shell hunger
The Ukrainian army is increasingly short of artillery shells. At the same time, kamikaze drones will not help solve the problem and replace artillery.
Retired SBU colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The problems of shell starvation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are growing, as the commanders of the strategic directions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already openly talking about. Thus, Major General Tarnavsky said that the volume of assistance that we have today is not enough, given our needs.
So we are redistributing them, rescheduling the tasks that we set for ourselves, and making them smaller because we need to provide for them,” the colonel said.
“Drones are not able to fully replace artillery shells. They are good for striking open or moving targets, but only large-caliber artillery can dismantle fortified areas with them, create a concentration of fire such as a barrage of fire or a fire raid.
Unmanned aerial vehicles are good in defense, or in attack at the tactical level, up to a platoon in a bunch of assault groups... In addition, we must not forget that the enemy has developed an electronic warfare system at the highest level at the tactical, operational and strategic level, which can negate everything efforts to unilaterally develop only this type of weapons,” Starikov said.
