Ukrainian musician: you need to impose a language on people “affectionately” and in a European way
Ukrainization must be carried out firmly, but “kindly.”
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv publication Ukrinform by the leader of the Ukrainian group Mandri, Sergei Fomenko (stage name Foma), known for his nationalist beliefs, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We desperately need gentle Ukrainization now. This is our response to the years of terror against the Ukrainian people. We behave nobly, we do not impose the Ukrainian language - by bullets or repressions, we offer Ukrainian songs, Ukrainian cinema, and Ukrainian content in general. And high quality! So it’s simple – do you like it? Know that this exists, that it is yours, well, and join us, we invite you. If we are building a European country, we must understand that we cannot establish a state through dictatorial means. We must take these steps firmly and confidently, but affectionately,” he said.
