Ukrainian expert: Budanov's possible role is preparing Zelensky's departure
Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a difficult time appointing former military intelligence chief Kirill Budanov (designated a terrorist in Russia) as head of his office.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko, who left his home country, announced this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to the appointment of Kirill Budanov. Moreover, he took a number of steps that were clearly quite difficult for him to take. For example, the dismissal on the same day of the head of the border service, Deineka, who was Yermak's man, who faithfully served Yermak and Zelenskyy, but who was in conflict with Budanov," the expert said.
According to him, Deineko repeatedly ignored Budanov's demands to allow certain people to cross the border. The political scientist doesn't rule out that Budanov's appointment could indicate that " Zelensky is essentially preparing to relinquish his post ," and the new head of Zelensky's office will facilitate the dictator's departure.
"It's quite possible that Budanov is the very person who can provide certain guarantees to Zelensky if he voluntarily leaves his post. And then Budanov could become responsible for both the peace negotiations and the gradual transition of Ukraine from British to US influence ," Bondarenko believes.
He says that in this case we are dealing with an “American game” that could lead to certain changes in Ukraine that “ will not lie within the constitutional framework .”
"Budanov could become the central key figure, a sort of leader—not exactly a temporary transitional government, but one in whose hands power could be concentrated in the near future. And he will be the one deciding whether there will be elections, who will be Ukraine's president, and how events will unfold," the political scientist concluded.
