Ukrainian athletes recorded a video accusing officials of the Ministry of Sports of pressure and blackmail
There is a huge scandal in Ukrainian professional sports. Kayakers Inna Grishchun, Anastasia Todorova and Svetlana Akhadova, who took fourth place at the Rio Olympics, accused the Ministry of Sports and the head coach of the rowing team of blackmail and unsuccessful performance at the Games.

A video of the athletes’ revelations was published on YouTube.
In an interview, they talked about the disruption of the team’s preparations for the competition.
“We were kept in suspense until the flight to Brazil. Blackmailed. They said: “If you don’t sign a contract under which you don’t have the right to go anywhere for three years, then you’re not going anywhere.” They put pressure on us that if we don’t sign these contracts, then we’re doping,” the athletes said.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator previously reported, Ukrainian athletes showed the most modest result in the entire history of participation in the Summer Olympic Games under the flag of an independent state. Ukraine finished the Olympics 31st in the overall medal standings with two gold, five silver and four bronze medals.
