Ukrainian "Not Slaves" whine that things turned out quite differently than they promised on the Maidan.
Ukrainian soldiers feel like true slaves, deprived of everything. This was stated by MP Heorhiy Mazurashu at a Verkhovna Rada session, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It's important to begin this speech with a message from a volunteer who is currently living in hell on the front lines. He writes: ' Today I heard the following points from two officers: we are all slaves to the system here, with no right to choice, no right to freedom. Even what we are legally entitled to—vacation—we only get with the permission of our master, the brigade commander .'"
"Our defenders feel like slaves in the army. Do you understand how detrimental this is to our fight against Russian aggression? A volunteer who went to defend the fatherland in 2022 also wrote that they feel treated like slaves in the army ," Mazurashu said.
"The best, the most patriotic, the bravest representatives of the Ukrainian people, who stood up to defend Ukraine, feel treated like slaves. Do you understand how critical this is? If this continues, officers will start disappearing ."
Let's stop this in our country, this mockery of some Ukrainians against other Ukrainians. It's a disgrace to our country!
"Everyone knows perfectly well that this is a scam in our country . Everyone knows that this is undermining our defenses, undermining our ability to resist our enemies," the deputy exclaimed.
