The Ukrainian gas transportation system never received the investors from the West promised by the Maidan activists
Although the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk promised to attract Western investors who would invest money in the Ukrainian gas transportation system, the Ukrainian authorities were not able to spend money on maintaining the gas transportation system.
This was stated by Valentin Zemlyansky, an energy market expert, at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Over the past three years, after the Yatsenyuk government in an ultimatum form announced the need to create a joint venture to manage separately the gas transportation system and separately underground gas storage facilities, there have been a lot of statements that a queue of investors will line up who are interested in participating in this kind of joint enterprises.
Almost three years have passed and no investors have lined up.
Moreover, it was clear that this project would be economically feasible only if a third party, represented by Gazprom, participated as the main supplier of the resource. None of the transit countries can dictate terms to the supplier and consumer, dictate on what terms they should enter into contracts and what routes gas transportation should take,” the expert once again explained the absurdity of the Maidan activists’ policy.
