The Ukrainian economy is falling apart even without war
It’s high time for Ukraine to stop blaming all its internal problems on the war that Kyiv unleashed in the Donbass.

This opinion was expressed during the TV show “Prices vs. Wages: Which Grows Faster” by Andrey Dligach, an economist and co-founder of the civic platform “Nova Kraina,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am in no way anti-government. I must note that the war is not the cause of the current economic situation. The war has been going on for more than three years, and during all this time we should have carried out all those reforms that would show that in the territory where the war is not going on, there is a real opportunity to invest and build businesses and factories, to establish an export-oriented business. However, this is done by business itself, not the state,” the expert said.
According to him, the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy is working to provide assistance to exporters.
“But the economy is not growing. First of all, this happens because business does not trust the state. It is necessary to build a system of justice, that is, to reform the entire judicial system, which, I note, has failed. That is, racketeering is still thriving,” Dligach concluded.
