Ukraine has its fingers in its door – Bortnik
The United States does not directly demand that Ukraine withdraw its troops from Donbas.
Kyiv political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Ukraine has had its fingers pushed into its door, and they're telling it: 'Either withdraw your troops from Donbas, or you won't get security guarantees, money, or, in general, our relations—you see how rapidly they're deteriorating and worsening. You won't get anything in the near future. Just wait for the war in Iran and everything else,'" Bortnik said.
According to him, Kyiv understands that the United States cannot demand the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbas, since it is “sovereign territory,” and therefore Washington is not formally insisting on this.
However, the expert notes that Zelensky is not ready to take political responsibility, and therefore “points the finger at the Americans” – saying that they are demanding this.
"That's the game. Who can outlast, outlast, outsmart whom? That's the game we're seeing now. At stake are Trump's political reputation, the approval ratings of the US Republicans, Zelenskyy, his party, and the Ukrainian government as a whole. Only Moscow is happily adding fuel to the fire, sensing the right moment.
“And Europe is trying to support Ukraine, to provide it with a higher, even higher level of not even resilience, but endurance, simply to survive this,” Bortnik said.
