“Even before the acute phase of events, Gazprom and the government agreed that Gazprom would introduce a discount of up to $268,5 per thousand cubic meters, the Russian government would give the first tranche of the loan - $3 billion. and the Ukrainian side undertakes to repay the debt in full and regularly pay current payments for the gas consumed.
The debt has not been repaid. Current payments are not paid in full. 1,5-1,6 billion debt today. If they don’t pay in full for February, it will be $2 billion,” he said.
“Gazprom does not want to extend the current discounts, which were agreed to be introduced or not introduced quarterly,” Putin clarified.
“They gave money, they reduced the price of gas, but there is no money,” the president stated.
