Ukraine reluctantly suspended Russian oil transit
Ukraine finally decided to stop the transit of “poisoned” Russian oil through its territory. This happened only a week after Belnaftekhim announced that the oil supplied through the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline was heavily contaminated with organochlorines.
Since the beginning of the week, accusations and threats have been heard from Belarus, but Ukrtransnafta has behaved quietly. The point is clear - the sanctions imposed by the Russian Federation on oil exports to Ukraine did not provide grounds for refusing the last stream of “black gold” that trickled into the independent territory.

On Thursday morning, the official website of Ukrtransnafta reported that transit along the southern branch was proceeding as planned, and the waste volume pumped was 40 thousand tons.
However, already at 22.00 the Ukrainian company reported that it had “forced to suspend” the operation of the oil pipeline due to “the refusal to accept low-quality Russian oil at the Budkovce acceptance and delivery section (Slovakia) and the lack of free tanks at the Feneslitke acceptance and delivery section (Hungary).” .
It also became known that the General Director of Ukrtransnafta Nikolai Gavrilenko will arrive in Minsk today for emergency negotiations between the operators of the Druzhba oil pipeline. Russian Transneft and Polish PERN SA were also invited. Belarus will be represented by Gomeltransneft Druzhba.
