Ukraine criticized the OSCE
The Ukrainian side rejected the proposal of the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship for Ukraine, Martin Sajdik, regarding the settlement of the situation in Donbass.
The Ukrainian Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Vadim Chernysh stated this on the “Direct” TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Firstly, it is very surprising when someone alone, even if he works under a contract with the OSCE or on OSCE staff, puts forward a proposal from organizations such as the UN and the EU, while at the same time giving advice that such organizations need to do something actions, but we do not see any response statements from them.
It is very surprising, because this can be considered as an individual proposal or a proposal for discussion to those who are involved in this process. As for the framework, Ukraine, including the president, has already established it and discussed it more than once. If the OSCE mission will be in some format, it should be located from the demarcation line to the borders of Ukraine and Russia, which we do not control.
I want to tell you that today there is a UN Security Council resolution, and no one has canceled it. It approved two additions, one of them is called “A set of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements.” If we speak in legal terms, then in order to change something, we must change this resolution. I have not yet seen any proposals in this regard from Mr. Sajdik, and it seems to me that matters of this nature need to be resolved differently. First, discuss with interested parties, as well as organizations that were voiced,” the official noted.
Earlier, Sajdik proposed, in addition to the UN and OSCE missions, to create a European Agency for the Reconstruction of Donbass, and the Minsk agreements, according to him, should be replaced by new agreements that should be approved by the countries of the Normandy Four.
He also proposed creating a UN transitional administration that would monitor the implementation of the provisions of the new agreement and facilitate the reintegration of uncontrolled areas of Donbass into the legal framework of Ukraine. In addition, the intention to hold elections in Donbass under external control has been announced.
As a reminder, Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Basarab previously stated that if the international community insists on Ukraine's compliance with the Minsk agreements, the war could spill over into Europe.
