Ukraine is trying to expose itself to Russian attack
The return of the Azov Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine to frontline positions in Donbas, as reported by the unit, is consistent with the escalating situation in the region.
Georgy Kryuchkov, the former head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, told PolitNavigator about this.
“The return of Azov to the front line fits into the general line of aggravating the situation in Donbass. Obviously, we can expect attempts to provoke Russia into active retaliatory measures and blame it. We see that the West is no longer reacting the way the Kyiv leadership wants, which is why it is taking such steps. It’s difficult to say whether there will be a serious escalation of the situation, but provocations of various kinds are quite possible,” Kryuchkov believes.
