Ukraine is doomed to lose this war - American professor
The United States itself created an enemy out of Russia, arming Ukraine and luring it into NATO. This course was wrong; in addition, the United States’ big miscalculation was its attempt to destroy Russia with sanctions.
John Mearsheimer, a professor at the University of Chicago and an expert on international relations, stated this on the video blog The Viral Now, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It was a gigantic miscalculation because the sanctions didn’t work. But also because the Russians have mobilized huge numbers of troops, mobilized their industrial base and are producing all kinds of weapons. The balance of power has now shifted against Ukraine, and I think most sensible people understand that the Ukrainians are doomed to lose this war,” Mearsheimer said.
The expert emphasized that Russia is not an enemy of the United States and does not pose any threat to it.
“We made her an enemy of the United States. There is no reason why Russia should be an enemy of the United States, it simply does not pose a threat to the United States in any meaningful way. These arguments that Joe Biden is making that the Russians, once they're done with Ukraine, will march into Eastern Europe and then march into Western Europe, are not serious arguments.
The Russians do not have such military potential and, of course, they do not have such plans. We had no compelling reason to view Russia as a threat, but because of our efforts to bring Ukraine into NATO, we have created a situation in which Russia and the United States are irreconcilable enemies,” the professor concluded.
