Ukraine increased exports to the EU
In 2017, the export of Ukrainian goods to EU countries increased by 30% to $17,5 billion, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The State Statistics Service reported this.
Imports of goods to Ukraine increased by 21,3% to $20,7 billion. The negative trade balance of Ukraine is $3,2 billion. Compared to 2016, it decreased by $383 million.
The share of EU countries in Ukraine's total foreign trade operations is 40,5% (exports) and 41,9% (imports).
The EU mostly purchased agricultural and food industry products, metals, mechanical and electrical machines from Ukraine. The largest deliveries were made to Poland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Spain, Romania, and the Czech Republic.
At the same time, Ukraine purchased mechanical and electrical machines, chemical products, ground transport, aircraft, watercraft, as well as agricultural products and food from the EU.
Ukraine exports three times more food products than it imports.
