Strikes against Russia's critical infrastructure will be much more sensitive due to the country's size and the vast distances between regions. The destruction of targets at Engels Airfield demonstrates that Kyiv can easily reach Moscow.

Ukrainian military expert Mikhail Samus stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Since Russia is a huge country, it is very dependent on critical infrastructure, much more than Ukraine. Ukraine is not a small country, and what the Russians are doing to our infrastructure is causing us great harm, especially from the point of view of the life of the economy and population.

For Russia, this situation may become more critical, since the ability to function as a single whole depends on their infrastructure. Since some regions are united either by aviation or by one railway line, I’m not even talking about the energy potential of some regions of Russia. Russia is in a much more difficult situation than Ukraine,” Samus assured.

He noted a certain symbolism in the attack on Engels airfield.

“There are fewer kilometers to Moscow than to Engels, and therefore this is more symbolic, and means that Ukraine receives opportunities that can even affect the capital. And in the Kremlin, someone’s hands should tremble a little, and perhaps even begin to move to a bunker beyond the Urals. For now, Ukrainian equipment cannot reach beyond the Urals.

As for Russia's strategic mistake, it's all a matter of time and desire. Ukrainians can create weapons with any range. And if we are talking about Ukraine’s missile capabilities, then what the Russians told on February 24 is why they started the war, because Ukraine allegedly created nuclear weapons here, some kind of missiles. Well, okay, let’s see, perhaps they have created such a disaster for themselves,” added the Ukrainian expert.

"We're saying that strikes on infrastructure, when there are airstrikes in Ukraine, are terrorist attacks. Surely we can't resort to the terrorist methods that Russia does?" the presenter asked.

“We will act using adequate methods. I don’t think that Russians now have the right to be in comfortable conditions when Ukrainians are suffering. Yes, I allow attacks on thermal power plants, on places where electricity is delivered and distributed, on oil depots, yes. I think this needs to be done, because it cannot be that the Russian population, the slaves who are obedient, now there will be another wave of mobilization, will go to war to kill Ukrainians for no apparent reason, and at this moment they will celebrate the New Year in their cities, and everything will be fine,” Samus threatened.
