Donald Trump sees that he can not only save face while leaving Ukraine, but also bargain for something in return, so he will actively work with the Europeans so that they stop interfering with the process.

America has no plan to win in Ukraine, they understand that they were given a kick in the teeth, they cannot win there.
The longer the Americans stay on Ukrainian territory, the worse the process of leaving Ukraine will be later, if they do not reach an agreement with Russia. So that they do not have to flee later. As long as they can save face and get something in return, this is currently being discussed on the table between representatives of the US and the Russian Federation,” the ex-diplomat added.
