The Russian group in the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic can quickly take control of Chisinau.
Bulgarian political scientist Plamen Paskov said this on air on the Vyshka Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Compared to the combat effectiveness of the Moldovan armed forces, these one and a half thousand fighters [of Russia in the PMR], at least that’s what military experts said, they are more combat-ready.
And they could take possession of the city of Chisinau if desired and if indicated. It is technically and militarily possible to do this,” Paskov said.
However, he stressed that this will not happen due to the possible consequences.
“Really, what to do then? How they will be able to cope with the consequences later is an open question, not very pleasant, quite sad.
Because then a window of opportunity opens for which these fifteen hundred fighters will, to put it mildly, not be enough to cope with the situation,” the political scientist added.
