The law stipulates that “an internally displaced person is a citizen of Ukraine permanently residing on the territory of Ukraine, who was forced or who independently left his place of residence as a result of or to avoid the negative consequences of an armed conflict, temporary occupation, widespread violence, massive violations of human rights and emergency situations.” situations of natural or man-made nature.”
It also provides that he has “the right to protection from forced internal displacement or forced return to his abandoned place of residence”
The fact of internal displacement is confirmed by a certificate of registration of an internally displaced person. The law determines that an internally displaced person has the right, in particular, to reliable information about the presence of a threat to life and health in the territory of his abandoned place of residence, as well as the place of his temporary settlement, free accommodation for six months, free travel to return to to your abandoned place of residence in all types of public transport, etc.
