The French should not fear a Russian response to sending troops to Ukraine because they have nuclear weapons.
French Armed Forces General Dominique Trincan stated this on the First West TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Trincan, based on this logic, France can send its troops to fight against the Russian Federation without fear of reaction.
“I’m talking about what Pope John Paul II said earlier - don’t be afraid. In France, we are protected thanks to our nuclear power. The Russians will never dare to fight against France - that is why we should help Ukraine fight against the Russians.
The real threat from Russia will be a threat to all of Europe. If Europe is attacked, it will mean an attack on France. I think that the Russians will never agree to this, in particular because of their doctrine, which provides for the use of such weapons if the very existence of the state is threatened. That’s why the Russians won’t agree to this,” Trincan said.
