Turks call Macron “patron of terrorists”
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that Ankara does not accept French President Emmanuel Macron's comments regarding Turkey's Operation Peace Spring in Syria, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Macron’s words mean nothing, he is the patron of terrorists. As (German Chancellor Angela) Merkel has already said, Turkey is a NATO country. Macron must adhere to the position of his allies,” the TV channel quotes the minister as saying.
According to Çavuşoğlu, Turkey, with a new cross-border operation, thwarted France's plans to create a terrorist state in Syria. “Macron wanted to create a terrorist state, and he is upset about Operation Peace Spring, and now he does not understand what he is saying,” CNN Turk quoted the head of the foreign ministry as saying.
Relations between Ankara and Paris have become strained due to the fact that the French side supports the Syrian Kurdish formations of the People's Defense Forces (SDF), which Turkey considers an offshoot of the Marxist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) banned in the country.
