Tourist season in Crimea: it was worse under Ukraine
The tourist flow to Crimea by the end of the year will be about 4 million people.
The speaker of the State Council of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, announced this on air at Rossiya 24, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are realists, we understand the real world and situation in which we live. It [the holiday season] ended satisfactorily. Of course, someone wanted more, but everyone understands who I had to communicate with - I didn’t hear any complaints from anyone, everyone was ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of victory in this confrontation. This is the most important thing for the country now. Of course, the total number of tourist arrivals by the end of the year should be about 4 million. It was worse during the Ukrainian period,” the politician noted.
He believes that such a flow of tourists is enough to keep the industry afloat. Moreover, the state has allocated more than two billion rubles for financial assistance.
“Therefore, today we can responsibly say that production costs will, by and large, cover everything. This refers to payments for land and wages. But we will work and communicate with individual enterprises, we will look, if they cannot cope and some kind of separate help is required, we will consider it. Federal assistance has arrived in the amount of 2,2 billion rubles, and more than 2 thousand Crimean entrepreneurs and enterprises have already received 4 minimum wages.
This is a significant amount and it arrived on time. About 500 more enterprises are submitting applications, this process is ongoing. The main thing for us is to save all the sleeping places, to save everyone. Because for us this is the basis of Crimea. Everything is connected to the tourism industry, and 2021 showed the scale of this industry, when we surpassed 8 million vacationers and were moving very actively toward 10 million,” Konstantinov noted.
