National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov wrote about the "uselessness of crowd sympathy" and compared Petro Poroshenko to Jesus Christ, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Many people know the biblical story of how the people rejoiced when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. How they shouted to Him “Hosanna!” And the same people threw clothes and palm branches at their feet, who a few days later, without waiting for the desired cm, free food, treatment and quick victories, demanded His crucification. This story demonstrates the futility, instability and conditionality of human preferences and crowd sympathies, which in a matter of days can turn into irritation and rage,” he said on Facebook.
Turchynov said that both for two thousand years and now they want to improve their lives not through hard work, but through a miracle.
“To defeat cruel external enemies not at the cost of unity, extreme efforts and losses, but in a strange way - with “convincing arguments” and the charisma of the next leader. Millions of people continue to hope for a solution to their complex problems, without making any effort; they want to change the world around them, without wanting to change themselves. Just like two thousand years ago, so now the mood of the crowd, having not received satisfaction of its whims, instantly turns into frenzy and a thirst for brutal reprisals,” added the head of the National Security and Defense Council.
